Unilumin’s Metasight solution is behind landmark displays erected during the past two years, totalling 22,000sq m, and encompassing the world’s largest LED sphere at the time of its launch.

One of the highlights of Riyadh Season – a state-sponsored annual entertainment and sports festival in Saudi Arabia – is Boulevard World, which attracts tourists from all over the world with its novel entertainment experience and diverse cultural content.

This visual extravaganza has been brought to life by LED specialist Unilumin Group’s Metasight solution.

Boulevard World employs LED displays, software-integrated control technology, artistic design and creative content to build a technologically immersive space.

For two years running, Unilumin has built Metasight landmarks for Riyadh Season. In 2021, the company constructed a 7,000sq metre display in Times Square, while last year’s landmark display in Boulevard World stretched to 15,000sq metres.

Both solutions integrated Unilumin hardware, content design and software backed by CMMI Level 5 certification.

Last year’s landmark structure was certified, at the time, to be the world’s largest LED sphere by Guinness World Records. The sphere has a diameter of 35m and features an LED surface that covers 3,000sq metres.

The complex construction process required high-altitude operations, but Unilumin mobilised its vast manufacturing resources and in-house experts to deliver the project ahead of schedule. From the design stage, through the manufacturing, onsite integration, software configuration and testing, to the project going live, took only 82 days.

The LED sphere, which features unique heat dissipation, can operate in high temperatures, and offers low energy consumption. Its eye-catching 3D content, displaying various themed animations, lights up the adjacent lake. The full screen offers centralised control and display, facilitating intelligent management.

The Middle East’s largest creative LED ceiling, meanwhile, comprises Unilumin’s 1,500sq metre of ceiling panels in a distinctive shape. When visitors gaze up at the high-definition display, they feel as if they are wandering through the middle of a painting. The immersive experience’s screen is unaffected by rain or sunlight even. It even has a practical use, offering shelter for passers-by.

Boulevard World features an expansive array of LED screens, with a digital landscape that is home to screens ranging from conventional to unique. There are flat screens, screens with 90° corners, square screens, massive curved screens, ring screens and can-shaped screens. These displays have been seamlessly integrated into the structures with centralised software and content distribution – establishing Metasight as the go-to enabler for mega projects.

The Japan and India zones also chose Unilumin Metasight solutions – high-brightness outdoor and professional indoor displays that deliver static and dynamic visuals – to showcase their unique cultures in a more rich and diverse form.

When it comes to building visual feasts such as Boulevard World, Unilumin Metasight solutions are the proven choice.
